7.       Within the 24 hours that came to an end at 9.00 pm today the highest rainfall of 234mm was reported at Deraniyagala. The highest temperature of 33 0C was reported at Anuradhapura while the lowest of 5 oC was reported at Nuwara Eliya. Due to the wind blowing landwards from the southwest, the wind speed in the southwestern sea would be between 60 and 80 km/h. In addition the sea would be rough. There might be frost in the morning in the Nuwara Eliya area. Heavy rains might be expected in the western, central and south western regions of the island. Rains might be expected island-wide in the evening.
